Birthday And More 012

This piece was done for an on campus show at SFSU this semester and depicts an intersection at Powell street in downtown San Francisco. I used a digital photoshop filter on the photo and then proceeded to paint it exactly as it looked from photo source to canvas. I used oils to achieve a digital aesthetic with the intention of bringing focus to the piece not necessarily as a scenery but rather an examination of what it is that makes something photographic.
